Welcome to SMHRI

Who we are

Our journey began within the heart of the church, where a deep-seated passion for humanity and a calling to serve ignited the spark of our mission. Founded by individuals who understand the silent struggles of mental health, we are dedicated to breaking down barriers, erasing stigma, and fostering healing in communities.

Our Vision

Our vision is to provide culturally competent, holistic, and wellness-focused services that promote people’s social-emotional development, prevent the development of mental health challenges, and address existing social-emotional problems. We strive for excellence in supporting mental health resettlement and reintegration.

Our Objectives

At SMHRI, we are dedicated to improving mental health and social wellness by providing solutions through therapy, customized treatment plans, and psychosocial support for substance abuse, behavioral addictions, mental instability, burnout, and co-occurring conditions. We facilitate community resettlement and inclusion by supporting recovering and long-stay mental health patients in their transition to local communities through skilling, social inclusion programs, and clinical support. Our advocacy and awareness efforts include mental wellness campaigns through online and in-person trainings, linking programs in educational and non-educational institutions, and advocating for the rights of mental health patients. Additionally, we carry out research, monitoring, and impact evaluation on mental health wellbeing to influence policymakers by engaging with government, community leaders, academia, NGOs, and the private business community.
